Event Description:
This event is for the local communities to officially proclaim April as Child Abuse Prevention Month. We invite the Mayors from Warner Robins, Centerville and Perry to join a RAFB representative and Houston County Commissioner, to join together in showing support for children and families by recognizing this terrible crime against our most fragile, our children. A leader in our community is also asked to speak at this event. Immediately following the Proclamation Signing, the participants at the Proclamation Signing each assist in displaying the designated amount of pinwheels on the lawn of the hosting location. Why Pinwheels? Each pinwheel that is displayed represents a child in Houston County that was abused the previous year. We believe the pinwheel is a symbol of the innocence of childhood and the joy kids should have everyday, but sometimes is stripped from them.
Location:
900 Highway 96, Warner Robins, GA 31088
Flint Energies on Highway 96 next to Houston County High School.
