Event Description:
On Thursday June 10th, FAMA (Families Against Methamphetamine Abuse), Hodac, Inc. and Rockefeller Law Center will be sponsoring the ''Middle Georgia Community Luncheon on Meth Use and Prevention''. The purpose of this event is to raise awareness of the dangers of methamphetamine in our community and to network about local solutions. Jim Langford, Executive Director of the Georgia Meth Project, will be the guest speaker. ''With all of the challenges we are facing today, from Gulf Oil spills to joblessness to two active military campaigns, we must not lose sight of the toll inflicted on our communities by drug and alcohol abuse.'' states Jim Rockefeller, founder of FAMA. ''There is no national solution to fighting drug abuse; it must be fought at the local level. We must not miss out on the opportunity presented by the Georgia Meth Projects statewide campaign to come together as a community and win that fight here in Middle Georgia.'' The event will be held at the Galleria Mall Conference Center and will begin at 12:00pm.
