The 23rd annual Independence Day Celebration will be held on Friday, June 30th at the McConnell-Talbert Stadium on South Davis Drive. The FREE concert will feature John Berry, an accomplished recording artist, the Band of the U.S. Air Force Reserve and MaryTherese Tebbe, 21st Century Partnership Executive Director will host the main stage show. The stadium will open to the public at 6:00 pm. Festivities will begin at 7:15 with the Houston County Honor Band, comprised of select musicians from the county's four high schools. The stadium bleachers offer seating; however, attendees are welcome to bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating in the infield. Food and beverages will be available at concession stands. Bags and containers are subject to search since alcoholic beverages are prohibited at this family event. The fireworks are set to music, which "makes the spectacular display that much more stirring and enjoyable to watch."
