Event Description:
Hearing Associates, Inc. Gives Back to the Community
More than 23.3 million Americans have a hearing problem that can be treated. Most insurance companies, however, do not cover the cost of hearing aids, making them unaffordable to some. Hearing Associates, Inc. is therefore sponsoring an essay contest to give away a set of hearing aids to a person who qualifies.
May is Better Speech and Hearing Month, a time to take stock of your hearing and seek help if you have a problem. The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association recommends a hearing checkup annually for people from age 45 and up, since most hearing loss is related to age.
For the past 3 years, Hearing Associates, Inc. has been giving back to the community. During the month of May we have given away 6 digital Hearing Aids. These Hearing Aids went to Essay Contest winners who would not otherwise be able to hear the sweet sounds of life.
To enter the contest, first contact Hearing Associates for details and our official entry form. Next, write an essay of 250 words or less tellling about your struggle or someone else's struggle with hearing loss and why you (they) would be a good candidate for our "Give Away." Deadline for entries is Wednesday, April 25, 2007. During the contest period, it will be necessary for the entry candidate to come into our office for a hearing screening. This will be performed at NO CHARGE.
