Electronics waste accounts for 2 to 5% of landfill volume, but contributes up to 70% of the toxins found in landfills. To promote the proper disposal of unwanted electronic equipment the Houston County Association for Exceptional Citizens (Happy Hour Service Center) and Keep Warner Robins Beautiful will host an E-Cycling Day on April 29,2006 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm (rain or shine). Items that will be accepted include: computer monitors,computer CPU's, laptops, printers, disk drives, floppy drives, keyboards, record players, speakers, UPS/Battery Back-up, projectors, computer mouse test and Networking equipment, televisions($10 fee), stereos, copiers, video machines, VCR's, camcorders, modems, scanners, electrical panels, fax machines, camera(digital,too), microwave oven, telephones, CB radios, CD players, portable radios, cell phones, cables, circuit boards, typewriters and CD ROM's. Items NOT accepted include: vaccum cleaners, refrigerators, washers, dryers, freezers, gas powered equipment and all NON-electronic equipment.
