On November the 9th, local residents and community leaders will reconvene to address some of the most critical health issues facing central Georgia, particularly health outcomes associated with the local obesity epidemic. The Central Georgia Regional Health Summit, launched in October of last year, is part of a multi-year initiative to improve health literacy and health outcomes in seven central Georgia counties—Bibb, Crawford, Houston, Jones, Monroe, Peach and Twiggs. Through last year's inaugural event and quarterly public meetings held over the past year in these seven counties, the Regional Health Summit continues to serve as an ongoing, community-responsive dialogue around the health issues that matter the most to local communities and healthcare systems alike. By taking a collaborative, community-based, and regional
