On Saturday, November 11, 2006 A & P Metal Recyclers is hosting an auction to raise money for the Atlanta Motor Speedway Children's Charity, the 2007 Cochran Motor Speedway Driver's Point Fund, and upgrades to Cochran Motor Speedway facilties. Bios will be taken for the right to rename Cochran Motor Speedway for 2007. Have a successful stock car speedway renamed after you or your business for one year! This is a "first time in history" event for Cochran Motor Speedway, and we encourage everyone to come out and participate. Don't miss this opportunity! The auction will include racing items and race cars auctioned from different reace teams. There will be a 10% auction fee for those items. There will be no fee if the item does not sell at the auction. There will be other activities planned for the whole family. Cars, trucks, motorcycles, race cars, tractors of all types. A beauty pageant will begin at 4:00 pm. Girls between the ages of 2 ans 30 are invited to compete for the title of Speedway Queen and the opportunity to represent Cochran Motor Speedway for the 2006-2007 racing season. The racing will begin in the early afternoon. Side-by-Side dirt track racing will begin in the early afternoon with the "Enduro 100". This event will test the endurance of both the race car and the driver and the winner will take home $1500. There will be a Dixie Chick 10-lap Powder Puff Race with a pit stop on lap 2.
