Event Description:
The men and women of the Dixie Crow Chapter of the Association of Old Crows will host our 36th Annual International EW Symposium from 20-24 March 2011. This year's theme is ''Electronic Warfare – Shaping America's Defense''. Our technical program, conducted at both classified and unclassified levels, will consist of requirements, intelligence, analyses, and program status reviews from throughout the Electronic Warfare community.
This symposium, jointly sponsored with WR-ALC/GRW (EW/Avionics Division) of the Warner Robins Air Logistics Center, is one of the largest aviation electronic defense trade shows in the country, drawing from industry, academia, and government alike. Maj Gen (ret) George Harrison has confirmed as our Wednesday evening Banquet Speaker and we are currently receiving commitments from numerous potential technical presenters from the military, government, industry and academia. I would be remiss not to mention the exhibit hall where we anticipate over 55 defense industry vendors showcasing their high technology accomplishments and capabilities to many of our military partners such as Egypt, Pakistan, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Canada, Norway, Belgium, The Netherlands, Australia and Portugal.
Last year's event was again a record breaker in attendance and in money raised to fund scholarships for local area students in the engineering and computer sciences fields. A few key points from Symposium 35 are:
• Tuesday, 23 March 2010 Proclaimed ''EW Day in WR'' by Mayor Chuck Shaheen
• 53 vendors occupying over 72 booths in the Century of Flight Hangar
• 1520 symposium registrants…..record attendance!
• 37 Technical Presentations over 2 days
• 7 – 2 hour Short courses on Thursday covering both Management and EW Technical Topics for Continuing Education Credit
• MSIC Trailer Tours
• $5,000 donation to Museum of Aviation – Totaling $160,000 donated over the years
• $615,000 in Scholarships provided to date to both civilian and military pers
